Selling your Kyosho collection: what are they worth?
Kyosho is a Japanese brand with an excellent reputation in the world of high-quality scale models. The company is known for its accurate 1:18 models of Japanese sports cars and international supercars. In recent years, Kyosho models have risen significantly in value — particularly the iconic Japanese models that have achieved cult status.
The Kyosho Samurai Series: the absolute pinnacle
The Samurai Series is Kyosho's premium line. These models are produced in very limited numbers and are characterised by exceptionally detailed castings and a high standard of finish. Samurai models of popular Japanese sports cars are highly sought after by collectors worldwide and fetch €200 to €500, sometimes more for rare variants.
Which Kyosho models are worth the most?
- Nissan GT-R R34 and R35: iconic Japanese sports cars, always in demand
- Honda NSX (NA1): the original NSX has risen strongly in value
- Toyota Supra A80: more popular than ever, especially in special colour combinations
- Mazda RX-7 FD: beloved JDM classic with a growing collector market
- Ferrari and Lamborghini 1:18: Kyosho's European supercars are solid in value
- 1:12 models: the large Kyosho models are rare and particularly valuable
Kyosho Ousia and standard models
Alongside the Samurai Series, Kyosho also produces the Ousia line and standard models. These are of good quality but less exclusive. Values here range between €50 and €150, depending on the model and condition. Original packaging is also an important factor with Kyosho.
Why now is a good time to sell your Kyosho collection
JDM culture (Japanese Domestic Market) has grown explosively in recent years, driven in part by films, games and social media. This has greatly increased demand for Kyosho Japanese sports car models. We see this reflected directly in prices. If you have Kyosho JDM models in your collection, this is an excellent time to have them valued.
